WHY WE GET UNHAPPY, SICK AND DIE

There is so much emphasis on health care; sickness and disease that I want to post just a little information about what I have learned concerning the origin of sickness and disease. Simple answer is, “We were born.” Second answer is “We choose to think either consciously or subconsciously thoughts that make us sick, diseased and unhappy.”

On our website, Linda and I have a slide banner that displays eight quotes that summarize our beliefs about why we get sick. We post them for a reason, to educate people about how to “Live Your Best Life Now.” Those quotes are as follows:

  • “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” — Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
  • “Fear doesn’t exist anywhere except in the mind”. – Dale Carnegie
  • “A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes.” – Mahatma Gandhi
  • “If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.”— Peace Pilgrim aka Mildred Lisette Norman
  • “The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”— The Buddha
  • “The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.”— Carlos Castaneda
  • “Genius is self-bestowed while mediocrity is self-inflicted.” – Walter Russell
  • “When we realize and accept there is no real death, we can then experience real life more fully.” – Bob Bennett

When one looks at the world’s health challenges, costs and levels of disease, it appears that the majority of mankind spends their time thinking mostly about sickness and disease, what causes them and how to heal them. Well the secret is no longer – a secret. What causes most sickness, disease and eventually death, are… our thoughts. As pointed out in the quotes above, we create our own sicknesses and illnesses. We also create our own happiness and unhappiness. Guess what, light bulb, aha moment, whatever…. if we have the power to create our unhappiness and illnesses, we have the power to eliminate and/or resist and heal them.

With the book, Biology of Belief, Bruce Lipton has spent the last eight years or longer explaining to the public what causes our illnesses. His scientific cellular biology research easily qualifies him as an expert to be listened to, studied and followed. After all he, along with his mentor Irwin R. Konigsberg, were two of the first researchers to isolate and cultivate stem cells, at the University of Virginia back in 1967.

Lester Levenson, an electrical engineer and physicist, the creator of “The Release Technique”, when faced with death, realized that throughout his life when he experienced lacking non-loving thoughts he became ill, however, when he experienced fulfilled loving thoughts he seemed to heal. His feelings were what created his struggles and corrected them. Rather than take the advice of his doctors and go home and die at the age of 42 from his second major heart attack, Lester chose to release all of those negative experiences and thoughts. He never went back to a doctor or hospital and did eventually die….at the age of 84 after a very successful and fulfilling life.

There are many books, articles and websites that completely explain the causes of these problems. My advice is to study what causes your unhappiness and sickness as well as both spontaneous and chronic illnesses and use the most powerful antidote and healing property known to man – your mind and its thoughts.
